Description | Athletic Field Supervisor Summary: Under basic supervision, schedules, coordinates, and supervises the daily activities of Parks Department, athletic field maintenance work crews; sets priorities and allocates labor, materials, and equipment for daily work; assures quality of work performed, and verifies that vehicles, equipment, and tools are used in compliance with all safety regulations and standard procedures. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND five years of municipal grounds maintenance experience, including lead worker experience, preferably with the City of Odessa. Knowledge of:
Skill in:
License and certification requirements: A Texas State Commercial Driver's License is required. Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator license through the Texas Department of Agriculture within 1 year of employment.
Physical demands and working environment: Work is performed indoors, outdoors, and at City facilities; requires moderate physical efforts, and the ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. City approved safety shoes must be worn.
