Grade:  218

Salary:  $74,495 - $122,070 Annually (Dependent on Qualifications)

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities 

The Engineer IV will oversee the Utilities Support Services Group and ensure proper engineering principals are utilized to accomplish department missions.

  • Responsible for the design, coordination, and development of the Utilities’ Capital Improvement Programs and administration of regulatory programs and related consultant contracts.
  • Investigate and document public complaints and inquiries concerning major projects and other matters.
  • Supervise team of engineers, draftsmen, GIS technicians, and data analysts to ensure proper recording and performance of Utility Assets, Hydraulic Models, Preventative Maintenance Programs, Risk Analysis, and proper documentation of work order activities.
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of Utility Design, Internal and Regulatory reports, Data Management, and agenda memorandums.
  • Perform engineering studies and make recommendations for future Utilities infrastructure projects.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or a valid registration as a Professional Engineer in another state is required
  • Previous registration in Texas or another state with the ability to obtain State of Texas registration within six (6) months of employment is required
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating 

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

  • Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
