 TITLE:  Maintenance Worker                                                                        LOCATION:   General Services - Grounds and Parks Maintenance

SALARY RANGE:  $29,120 (DOQ) annually with excellent benefits package  

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt 

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This is semi-skilled and unskilled manual labor as part of a parks and grounds crew performing routine maintenance and construction tasks for various public facility projects.  This position will perform outdoor work operating mowers, weed eaters, blowers and various field maintenance tools to keep our athletic fields in a beautiful and safe condition.  Work includes but is not limited to baseball infield preparation, dragging, edging, watering, athletic field layout and striping, and construction, installation and maintenance of various athletic field structures.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a high school diploma or GED; previous experience and/or training in maintenance and construction work in area of assignment is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.

SPECIAL REQUISITES: May require occasional weekend work.

LICENSES: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

NOTES: The work involved in this job requires sufficient physical strength, stamina, and ability to pass a work related physical proficiency test and pre-employment examination including drug test. The work is physically demanding, may require lifting heavy objects, and may require working in inclement weather.

 

Selection process may include: examinations, interviews, assessment centers, practical skills, etc. Drug testing may be required.
