The City of Fernandina Beach seeks an innovative, visionary servant leader of high integrity to serve as its new Deputy City Manager/City Engineer.  This is a new high-level administrative position established in the FY 2020 annual budget and will oversee the following four directors and their respective personnel: Maintenance Director, Street: Stormwater Director:  Facilities, Fleet, and Sanitation Director: and Utilities Director.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field and have at least ten (10) years of experience in a responsible senior administrative position in a municipal government. An advanced degree related to engineering or public administration and project management experience is preferred. This position requires a Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within six months of the hire date, and the ability to secure a valid Florida driver’s license.
