Description | Little Elm, Texas, is an exciting town ideally located near Dallas. Growing from a small community of around 2,000 in 2000 to 53,603 in 2022. Today, it is 22.7 square miles and one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. It’s also one of the wettest because more than 66 miles of its incorporated limits are on Lewisville Lake’s shoreline. The Town is situated on several peninsulas along the eastern shores of the lake, a 23,280-acre reservoir operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Denton County. The Chief Information Officer (CIO) position is a newly created position for the Town of Little Elm. Reporting to the Assistant Town Manager, the CIO is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of the Town’s information technology, telecommunications systems, and activities. The Town of Little Elm is seeking a visionary and innovative leader, who is a strategic planner, to serve as its first Chief Information Officer (CIO). The ideal candidate is energetic and focused on customer service, both internally and in the community. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT, public or private, with a minimum of seven years’ supervisory experience, is required. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, computer science, public administration, or business administration, is preferred. A relevant combination of education, experience, and training may be considered. Municipal/local government experience is not required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. Other desirable certifications include SQL database administration, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (M.C.S.E.), and a Network+ or CCNA. The ability to pass CJIS background checks to access and maintain the Police Department network is required. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License. Must be willing to travel to various buildings and sites and occasionally work outside of normal business hours to attend meetings and respond to system problems. The salary range for this position is $140,000-$160,000, dependent on qualifications and experience.
