Description | Job Description Public Works Planner — Environment & Development Planner II (Hybrid) The North Central Texas Council of Governments Environment & Development Department is seeking a mid-level planner to support the Public Works Council. The council is composed of public works professionals in local governments who work on traffic and transportation, water distribution and wastewater treatment, engineering and technology, solid waste management, construction management, fleet management, facilities, parks and grounds, and emergency management. This position will support the Public Works Council’s efforts to share ideas and resources, train public works professionals, plan for sustainable roadways, recruit students to the public works field, and publish construction standards. This position also will support the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program, which provides funding to help smaller communities in North Central Texas meet infrastructure needs in low- to moderate-income areas.
