Mows all City property and maintains the Harker Heights Community Center.  Operates light equipment and performs extensive manual labor; performs related work as required.  High School Diploma, or GED; Possess or ability to obtain a Texas Driver’s License. A minimum of six months experience in performing construction work requiring the use of equipment similar to or the same as assigned to this position.  Works effectively with other employees to mow, maintain and clean City parks, Community Center and City property.  Operates mowers, tractors, and weed eater.  Uses various indoor equipment, buffers, mops, etc.  Cleans bathrooms, waxes and buffs floors, cleans Community Center.  Uses good judgment to work safely and use equipment properly; hear clearly when working around equipment or in street and alley traffic, using proper safety precautions; lifts and carries up to 50 pounds, and pulls, pushes, or drags up to 120 pounds of installation and repair equipment or materials; climbs, crawls, kneels, squats, twists, bends and stoops for extended periods of time.  Work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures including heat, cold, temperature swings, and inclement weather; some exposure to mechanical, electrical, explosive, fume, odor, dust, chemical, and toxic waste hazards.  Hear and see clearly when working in and around traffic while using proper safety precautions.  Communicates effectively with the public and other city employees.
